Wet Flies
Brown Drake Soft Hackle
This Brown Drake Soft Hackle, is a pattern that can be used at dusk when the air temperature cools off. The Brown Drake or Ephemera simulans, are the largest mayflies in the Rocky Mountain western range, but are found in most bodies of water across the continental USA. They typically hatch in late spring and early summer.
The Brown Drake nymph typically thrives in cooler waters where the river bed is comprised of a gravel and sand mix. They can survive in silty conditions, showing their versatility and range.
All flies are tied with American sourced materials including Hareline Dubbin Materials and Whiting Farm's Hackles & Capes and are tied on premium hooks.
